Looking for a pallet box? Make a well-informed decision by considering all criteria and options. Pallet boxes are available in many dimensions, colours and designs. In this blog, you can read more about the possibilities offered by plastic pallet boxes.
High load capacity
Pallet boxes are stackable large-volume containers; a combination of a pallet and a box, made of plastic. They are suitable for storing and transporting large quantities of goods or liquids. For example, our BIG BOX pallet box 1200 x 1000 mm holds 670 litres of liquid. In addition, pallet boxes can carry heavy loads. The pallet box mentioned above, for example, has a load capacity of 500 kg. This means the box can be loaded with up to 500 kg.

The load capacity is one of the most important criteria to consider when purchasing a pallet box. How much weight should the pallet box be able to carry without problems? Also pay attention to the maximum stacking load. This refers to the number of fully loaded pallet boxes that can be stacked safely and stably. The BIG BOX 1200 x 1000 mm has a stacking load of 4500 kg. This means that nine pallet boxes (with a maximum load capacity of 500 kg plus 45 kg tare weight) can be safely stacked on top of each other (8 on 1). The conditions are that the bottom box must stand on a level surface, the box must be evenly loaded with stable goods, and the ambient temperature must be 20°C. If the box is stored in warmer conditions, the load capacity will decrease. This must be tested, as it varies depending on the situation.
Food-safe
Most pallet boxes from Transoplastshop are made from food-grade plastic (recognisable by the green symbol). This makes them suitable for direct contact with food products, including unpackaged or liquid products. The pallet boxes are available in two versions: with closed walls and with perforated walls. Fully closed pallet boxes are liquid-tight and are therefore also used for storing liquids. Perforated pallet boxes feature small ventilation openings in the side walls and base. This ensures optimal air circulation for the products inside the pallet box, helping them stay fresh for longer. Moisture and condensation can also be easily drained away.

Available as standard in 7 colours
Grey, yellow, blue, red, green, black or orange, which pallet box colour best suits your application? Do you choose a colour that matches your corporate identity? Or do you use coloured boxes to create a clear distinction between different product flows? There are many reasons to consider our coloured pallet boxes. In addition, the coloured pallet boxes are made from food-safe plastic, with the exception of some black boxes and some foldable boxes. However, these pallet boxes are also perfectly suitable for packaged food products.
Foldable boxes
For empty return transport, foldable pallet boxes are a smart alternative to standard boxes. All four walls of foldable pallet boxes can be folded down. Once folded, such a box takes up to 60% less space. As a result, foldable pallet boxes can deliver significant cost savings during the transport and storage of empty boxes. Large container on wheels
A mobile pallet box is fitted with four wheels. This makes the box easy to move, even without internal transport equipment. A large pallet box on wheels can easily be pushed manually by one person. This is particularly efficient in warehouses or packing stations. Pallet boxes on four feet and pallet boxes on three runners are lifted and moved using a forklift truck or pallet truck, but mobile boxes on wheels can of course also be moved in this way. Pallet boxes on runners are used, among other things, for storage in pallet racking and drive-in racking systems. The runners provide sufficient load-bearing capacity and ensure safety within the racking. However, the load must be evenly distributed inside the box and consist of stable goods at an ambient temperature of approximately 20°C. These types of applications should always be tested under the actual conditions in which the box is used.
Pallet box with lid
Would you like to cover the pallet box? This can be done with a separate pallet lid or with a hinged lid. When these lids are used, our pallet boxes remain stackable. In addition to separate pallet lids, Transoplastshop also offers pallet boxes that are fitted with a hinged lid as standard. The advantage is that the hinged lid is attached to the pallet box, so it cannot get lost. When opened, the hinged lid does not fold all the way back. Thanks to the opening stop, the hinged lid remains angled backwards and can easily be closed again. Go directly to pallet boxes with lids >>>
Would you like to lock and secure the pallet box with lid? We supply pallet boxes with special locking systems for this purpose. Go directly to lockable pallet boxes.

Pallet box with drop door
Our range also includes pallet boxes with a loading hatch. These boxes feature a hinged loading hatch in one of the long sides. This lowers the lifting threshold, making the contents easier to access. The box can therefore be loaded and emptied more easily.
UN-approved box
To protect people and the environment, hazardous goods must be stored and transported under strict conditions. The regulations governing the transport of different substances are described in hazardous goods transport legislation. We supply UN-approved battery boxes, UN-approved containers and battery transport boxes in various sizes and designs, all intended for solid hazardous substances. Each load carrier indicates the hazard class for which the box is suitable. If you have any questions, please contact us at +31 (0)314 664400 or go directly to our UN-approved pallet boxes.
