Buy plastic pallets

Purchasing a plastic pallet can be a challenging task. Each pallet type comes with unique characteristics. Choosing the most suitable plastic pallet depends on many factors. First, it’s essential to analyze and assess the company’s logistics processes to create a requirement profile for the plastic pallet. Only then can the best choice for the appropriate pallet be made. We are happy to assist you in finding the plastic pallet that meets your needs.

Available plastic pallet sizes

Transoplast offers a wide range of plastic pallets in various sizes to suit different storage and transport needs. Here’s an overview of the most common dimensions:

  • 600 x 400 mm pallets: Ideal for smaller storage spaces and compact applications.
  • 800 x 600 mm pallets: Perfect for medium-sized storage needs, offering a balance between size and versatility.
  • 1200 x 800 mm pallets: The standard Euro pallet size, widely used across industries for its compatibility and efficiency in transport and storage.
  • 1200 x 1000 mm pallets: Designed for larger storage and transportation requirements, providing ample space and robust performance.

Tips for choosing the right pallet

1. Material: Wooden or plastic pallet

The first step is deciding between wooden or plastic pallets. If factors such as consistent tare weight, minimal flexing, hygiene, color, dimensional stability, or resistance to chemicals are important, plastic pallets are the best choice. They are also ideal for certain export applications and for long-term use due to their durability. Wooden pallets may be suitable for other purposes.

2. The sizes of Transoplast’s pallet

Pallets come in various sizes, and the right dimension depends on your application.  Common sizes include Europallets (1200 x 800 mm) and ISO pallets (1200 x 1000 mm). Smaller sizes like 600 x 400 mm and 800 x 600 mm are also available, along with special formats like 1140 x 1140 mm and 1300 x 1100 mm. Custom-sized pallets can also be supplied if needed on request. Always measure your products, transport location and way of transport before buying a pallet, in order to optimize your internal and external logistics.

3. Pallets and their load capacities

The load capacity is a critical factor and depends on the application. Before a pallet is purchased, the application  and load on the pallet should be considered. Pallet capacities are categorized as follow as:

  • Static load capacity: Weight a pallet can hold when stationary on a flat surface (fully supported).
  • Dynamic load capacity: Weight a pallet can carry when in motion, such as on a forklift or conveyor belt.
  • Racking capacity: Weight a pallet can sustain in a pallet rack for extended periods.

(Note: Load should be evenly distributed, stable, and measured at 20°C for accurate results.)

4. The application & logistics

Understanding your logistical needs is essential for selecting the right pallet. Consider these factors:

  • Type of load (e.g., crates, boxes, bags) and whether edge protection or anti-slip features are required.
  • Storage conditions (e.g., freezing temperatures, heat, outdoor storage, or stacking).
  • Equipment used for handling and transport (e.g., forklifts, conveyor belts, automated systems).
  • Open vs. closed deck design for hygiene or ventilation.
  • One-time vs. multi-use pallets (e.g., for export or ongoing use).

Light, medium and heavy duty pallets

Lightweight/One-way pallets

Transoplast offers lightweight pallets and export pallets designed for affordability and efficiency. These pallets are ideal for shipments to customers where return logistics are not feasible. Additionally, they can be used internally for handling light loads.

  • 1200 x 800 mm lightweight pallets: Models 1208LB9, 1208MB3
  • 1200 x 1000 mm lightweight pallets: Models 1210LB10, 1210MB3

These pallets provide an economical solution for single-use or lightweight storage and transportation needs.

Medium duty pallets

Medium duty pallets are versatile and designed for everyday use. They can support weights ranging from several hundred kilograms to approximately 1000 kg (dynamic load & racking load).

  • 1200 x 800 mm medium duty pallets: Models CS1, D1, H1
  • 1200 x 1000 mm medium duty pallets: Models CS3, D3, H3

These pallets are suitable for a variety of applications, balancing strength and practicality for medium-duty operations.

Heavy duty pallets

For demanding applications involving heavy loads of 1250 kg or more dynamicaly and in pallet racks, heavy duty pallets are the optimal choice. They are designed for durability and can withstand rigorous use in warehouses and pallet racks.

  • 1200 x 800 mm heavy duty pallets: Models TC1 (closed deck), A1, L1
  • 1200 x 1000 mm heavy duty pallets: Models TC3 (closed deck), E3, L3

Heavy duty pallets provide exceptional strength and stability, making them ideal for industries requiring reliable support for heavy goods.

Stackable and nestable pallets

Our pallets are designed to be stable when stacked. We also offer nestable pallets. The advantage of nestable pallets is that they can be compactly nested when empty, saving space. This feature can significantly reduce freight costs on return trips and save warehouse space. In our webshop, we offer the most common products from our range, all of which are always in stock and ready to ship.

Advantages of plastic pallets over wooden pallets

Plastic pallets have a long lifespan. Wooden pallets typically need to be replaced or repaired after two to three years, while many plastic pallets last up to ten years. Another advantage is that plastic pallets are resistant to weather conditions—rain does not affect them. Wooden pallets absorb moisture, which increases their weight, makes them brittle, and allows bacteria to grow. Below are some additional benefits of plastic pallets compared to wooden pallets:

  • Shape and weight remain stable
  • Largely chemical-resistant
  • Hygienic
  • No splinters or nails
  • Low maintenance
  • User-friendly
  • Lightweight
  • Stable stacking
  • No special treatment against pests required
