The battery containers for lithium-ion batteries have dimensions of 600 x 400 x 310 mm. The lid is secured with a tension strap, and the container contains about 10 kilograms of silica granulate extinguishing agent in bags. If a battery inside the container catches fire, the granulate melts and covers the burning area. This prevents air from reaching the fire, causing it to extinguish. This also ensures that reignition is not possible.

Lithium-ion batteries are found in many everyday items, such as mobile phones, tablets, tools, e-bikes, and even some toys.

• Flame-retardant materials: Specially engineered to smother flames in the event of a fire by cutting off the oxygen supply.
• Secure lids: Equipped with straps to ensure the boxes remain firmly closed during transport and storage, preventing accidental opening.

How to use battery boxes:

To ensure optimal protection of your lithium-ion battery in the battery containers, please follow our instructions:

• Tape the battery terminals to prevent short circuits.
• Place the batteries at least 6 to 7 centimeters apart from each other and the side walls inside the battery containers.
• Fill the spaces between the batteries and the side walls with the silica granulate extinguishing agent bags.
• Place additional bags of granulate on top of the batteries. This way, they are completely covered and cannot shift.
• Close the lid of the battery container and secure it with the tension strap.
• Attach the UN number clearly on the outside of the battery container and ensure it is weather-resistant.
